Anchorage
and Alaska enjoyed sustained economic expansion during and after World
War II. This growth culminated in the discovery of oil in the Cook Inlet
region and subsequent statehood for Alaska in 1959. Throughout this period,
new businesses commenced operations in Alaska and looked to the Delaney
Wiles law firm to provide professional legal services.
The founding
partners committed the firm to the provision of superior legal services
in exchange for reasonable fees. The firm retains its founders' commitment
to consistently attract top quality lawyers and clients interested in furthering
commerce and development in the state of Alaska. The Martindale-Hubbell
Law Directory gives the firm its highest rating. Many of its former principals
and associates have become prominent Alaska State and Federal judges.
The firm's
practice is oriented toward business
enterprises and governmental entities and is divided into three areas
of practice: litigation, commercial, and natural resources. Within these
broad-practice sections, attorneys handle a wide variety of complex legal
matters. When advantageous to the client, attorneys from different sections
collaborate on difficult cases.
Delaney
Wiles, Inc. consists of 12 full time
attorneys and three attorneys of counsel, supported
by a full paralegal, secretarial, and administrative staff. The firm has
broad experience handling large and small litigation cases. It maintains
its own legal library including Pacific, Alaska, and U. S. Supreme Court
Reporters, the U. S. Code and Alaska Statutes, the A.L.R. and AmJur publications,
and numerous treatises. Its research capabilities are expanded by the in-house
availability of Lexis and Westlaw computer services. The Alaska State Law
Library is located across the street. Delaney Wiles is fully computerized,
networked, and Internet ready and has the ability to connect with clients
via Virtual Private Networks (VPN's) or modems and appropriate software.
The firm provides its clients with the best possible legal services commensurate
with economy and efficiency.
In 1989,
the Delaney Wiles law firm was recommended, interviewed, and approved for
acceptance in the American Law Firm Association
(ALFA). Membership in that association is extended to firms throughout
the United States having a broad spectrum of practice, as well as to those
concentrating in particular areas of law. The objective of the association
and its members is to improve the quality and efficiency of legal services.
That objective is achieved, in part, through a linkup of member firms to
a telecommunication network providing instant communication. As a result,
member firms have the ability to share and reuse information and professional
experience. The objective is also achieved through periodic presentation
of national and regional educational seminars for clients, industry members,
and other interested parties. Delaney Wiles, Inc. has been accepted as the only American Law Firm Association
firm for the state of Alaska.
